Teacake.

A manchester based studio Teacake specialise in print and interactive design these are two fields that I identify as strenths. I love there work because it has character it is to me put simlpy how I visulise graphic design to look like.

A little about them...

Teacake is something quintessentially British, inventive and conscientious. We love visual organisation, people, places and the idea of creating a tangible interaction with those who see our work. This has subsequently led to us having a strong affiliation with design for print and a passion for typography inspired by time spent working in the design capital of the world, Amsterdam. Our partnership is based on a mutual love for all things creative and an ambition to be able to whistle while we work every day of the week!
We aim to deliver a personal design service in an open, honest and friendly manner in order to communicate your message in the most effective way possible. Moreover we are committed to engaging the public with worthwhile causes and creative projects that aim to benefit the community as a whole.
Our services include the concept, design and realisation of identities, stationary, publications, posters, flyers, press advertisements, exhibition graphics and wesbites. Having contributed to a number of exhibitions we also provide lectures and workshops at a number of educational institutions across the country. Our commercial expertise have lead us to deal with organisations both big and small, established and emerging.
If you would like to know any more please don't hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help in any way we can!

Some work they do...

Summer Starts Here

Opening on the last Sunday in March this short exhibition required participation from the patrons of the Nexus Cafe in Manchester. With a postcard competition and screen printing workshop it was a busy afternoon's entertainment for all who popped along. The highlight for us was this bright orange and blue exhibition poster produced using soya inks and 100% organic stock. The bunting looked white nice too!

Supporting New Talent
A selection of printed collateral designed for this exciting arts organisation.
...........................................................................

Founded to promote emerging fine artists of outstanding potential murmurArt aims to help engage a wider audience with contemporary art. So far we have produced a wide range of off-line material for this organisation including business stationary, press releases, certificates of authenticty and exhibition promotion for a one-off event in the Wonder Room at Selfridges in London.

Jerwood Encounters

Promotion for one of three exhibitions that formed the Encounters series at the Jerwood Space in London.
...........................................................................

Curated by artist Suki Chan For the Sake of the Image investigated the reciprocal relationship between moving image and sound. With six artists all exhibiting very different pieces ranging from animated sculpture to documentary video installations, this body of work included invites, posters, gallery signage and a custom designed DVD package presenting a showreel of the collection on display.

It's German for Friday!

This weekly event is brought to you by the letter 'F' and in association with our close friend Sebastian Matthes.
...........................................................................

Now in its second year this musical weekend opener connects the dots between electro, indie, disco, outsider pop, cosmic nonsense and forgotten gems. We just really love this lowercase Century F, luckily so do the people who keep popping back to Common!

2011 Poster

Roll up and pull yourselves together with a musical dose of indie excellence from our friends at PYT zine!
...........................................................................

In order to help Pull Yourself Together blow their own indie musical trumpet we created this poster for 2011 using bright red recycled stock and a very nice traditional line drawing of a rather Mancunian looking racketeer!

Identity, stationery and packaging for a traditional tailors neatly tucked away in the hills of the Ribble Valley.
...........................................................................

Every man needs a tailor and very bespoke tailor needs a bespoke identity to promote their traditional craft to a modern and sophisticated audience. It was our job to do just this and with the help of the very talented illustrator Ilyanna Kerr we created this logo using a traditional serif typeface and traditional line drawing of a master tailor's most important tool. So far we have produced a set of hand pressed business cards on stunning lilac Colorplan in a robust 540g. Packaging and a full website are underway including carrier bags, shirt boxes and silk tie envelopes for their new showroom.
