Enterprise Task 1, Who am I who are They.

As a creative I would describe myself as very ideas driven, I love hand rendered design for me a computer should only be used for layout. So I guess I prefer hand rendered methods such as screen printing and illustration. As well as this I love paper and folds and how this can work closely with how information is digested also the interesting design possibilities this creates. I would therefor aim to make very interactive hand rendered design.

  1. Magazine publications
  2. Retail
  3. Music Industry
  4. Food Companies / Packaging
  5. Entertainment / Night life
  6. Educational
  7. Publication
  8. T- Shirt
  9. Fashion
  10. Business sector
  11. Tourism
Out of all the above there are a number that i believe my skill set would relate to. If I had to choose one that compliment my skill and design style I would choose the design and distribution of T- Shirts. I believe I have the appropriate skills to relate to this client group. One of my main skills that would aid me in the production of t shirts is my knowledge of hand rendered media and illustrative skills as t shirts are mostly image driven. Skills i would need to develop are my understanding of fabric and inks, i would also need to invest some time into what type of t shirts i would use and how to purchase in bulk, all these considerations would have to be thought out.
Regarding the four p's starting with production this meaning me and my skills as a designer. I have acquired good knowledge of photoshop and illustrator, this will be key when laying out my t shirt designs. Other skills that will help in the production of the product are my understanding of print methods and of course my ability to draw. I would also need to consider price, my first consideration would have to be the price of the programmes I would need these being illustrator and mostly photoshop. As well as software other equipment i,e the price to rent out printing facilities whether this be screen or industrial. I would also have to buy a certain amount of t- shirts in batch from a supplier and purchase the appropriate inks. Once my t shirts are designed and printed I would need a point of sale this could simply be a website a small market store or a shop all costly particularly the rent for the shop. Then I would have to balance the cost of all the above against my expected sails to work out a reasonable price that possibly undercut other t shirts and left me with a profit.
Next is placement and promotion where i would sell my skills as mentioned previously this could be on the web via social network sites that link to a possible website or I could meet up with leading clothes manufacturers to sell my ideas. I could showcase on certain competition briefs such as d and a d etc. I could use mail outs business cards etc or simply my own shop in the correct location.
